You've got snail mail!

penpalsincThis post is probably going to be the only one that I make -- and it's also where you sign up to be assigned a penpal!
If this journal looks a little bare and empty, don't worry. You won't even be giving me your address; that only goes out to whoever your penpal ends up being. What's going to happen is that after you sign up in a screened comment, I'll wait until I get enough sign-ups to start matching people up. I'll send both you and your penpal an email with what fandoms you have in common (and there will be at least one) and it's up to the two of you to exchange mailing addresses, maybe share a tiny bit of information like other fandoms + hobbies just so there's something to write about, set some ground rules (are small gifts like stickers and cards cool?), and decide who's writing first.
If you get a letter, please try to reply in a week! I think that's reasonable. Barring post office mishaps, if you don't hear back from your penpal in 2-3 weeks and think they've quit on you, you're welcome to come back to this journal and get a new one. You can even have 2, 3, or more at a time if you want! Just make sure that you can keep up.
